Master Wheeler has been a part of the World Tang Soo Do Association since 1998, coming from a dozen years of Martial Arts expereince in other systems. When asked why he chose the WTSDA to make his home? He states ”It was the Brotherhood, Traditionalism and Professionalism established by the founder J.C Shin that made the difference for me, he was truly a great man and friend to many.”

Master Wheeler is a Husband and father of 4; Quion, Quiana, Quiara and Osai. He’s the Author of the book entitled ”Where is Adam, understanding a Father’s role” A book he has shared, and taught at the Universtity of Michigan Flint, the Flint Communit Schools, and other venues.

He is a retired veteren of the Flint Police Dept, where he served 19 of his 23 years in the Juvenile Divison as a School Resource Officer. He has also had the pleasure of teaching Police recruits in the Police Academy as well.

When asked what is one of his greatest joys of teaching at Double Dragon, he states ”Instead of putting hand-cuffs on the wrists of kids who may have made a mistake, I now train them and put Black Belts around their waists, and equip them for the future”

Master Wheeler is proud to say that he has touched the lives of hundreds, producing over 45 black belts. One Master (his son Osai of San Deigo CA) and his daughter Quiana is a 2019 Master’s candidate.

Being connected to his community is Master Wheeler’s charge in life., he ofen says, “if you’re not giving, you’re not living” He is an Associate Minster to Dr. Marvin A Jennings Sr at Grace Emmanual Baptist Church, where he’s been a member for almost 30 years. He is licensed and Ordained, and has his BA degree in Biblical Studies, and Pastorial Leadership. Master Wheeler wears many hats in his comminity. He also is a Life Coarch/Instructor for Re-Connections, a prison re-entry program created by Dennis Weinard. He is a former Member and vice President for Old News Boys of Flint; and the former Karate Head coach, and chairperson for the Flint Olympian/CANUSA games, and more.
